The idea came on an archery elk hunt in Nevada in 2023. I was running a spotting scope, binos, and a camera off one tripod, and I got tired of how slow it was to switch between them. I built prototypes, tested them on elk in Colorado and desert sheep in Nevada, and I've field tested every season since.
We're pre-launch, so there are no reviews to show you yet. The first run is being machined in Nevada right now. Pre-order it, run it 30 days — if it doesn't change how you glass, send it back.

6 straight answersWill a magnet actually hold my spotting scope?
The magnet is only half of it. N52 neodymium pulls the plate into alignment, then it seats against a machined mechanical shoulder that carries the load — a positive lock you can feel, not a guess. Load ratings are being finalized in testing and we'll publish them before the first run ships.
Will it fit my optic?
If your optic has a 1/4"-20 socket, a MagRac Slide threads straight on — that covers virtually every spotting scope, binocular adapter, rangefinder and camera. Thread one onto each optic and they all drop into the same base. Not sure about your setup? Email a photo to info@magrackllc.com and we'll tell you straight before you order.
Will it fit my tripod?
The Base is machined with an Arca-Swiss style dovetail, so it drops straight into any Arca-Swiss style clamp — the same clamp your tripod head already uses for camera plates. If your head takes a standard Arca plate, it takes a MagRac Base. Nothing to bolt on, nothing to modify.
Will the magnet damage my optics or electronics?
No. These are small mount magnets, not lab equipment — the field strength is low and it drops off quickly with distance. Glass, coatings, and the electronics in a rangefinder or a phone are unaffected in normal use. Keep any magnet away from a compass needle while you're taking a bearing, same as you would with any gear.
When am I charged, and can I cancel?
Your card is charged at checkout — that's what reserves your unit in the Limited First Run. You can cancel any time before it ships for a full refund; just email info@magrackllc.com. Once it arrives, the 30-Day Field Trial starts. Full details on our Returns & Refund Policy.

Every item is on pre-order now and ships in time for fall season 2026, from Nevada. Orders ship in the order they were placed, so earlier is genuinely earlier. We email everyone who has ordered once a month with where the run actually stands.
